Grandfathers ("Anne Steele's cottage")
W. Anchor series
Grandfathers , once the home of the hymn-writer Anne Steele whose family lived inĀ Broughton House during much of the 18th and 19th centuries. The house probably dates from the 17th century and may have been built by one of her ancestors, William Steele, a carpenter by trade.
