Blakes Charcoalburners
“Meet the Charcoal Burner of Harewood” Press cutting describing the use of Blakes Charcoal kilns to make charcoal in Harewood forest near Andover. It had the advantages of being portable, and enabling the charcoal to be produced in batches of varying quantities. Blakes Forge in Broughton became well-known for the production of this kiln amongst other novel products in the middle years of the 20th century.
